More Reasons to Show Down the Royal Flush!

Like on other Mac poker sites, you will be ranked based on a points total. When you play a tournament, you get leaderboard points based on the prize pool and where you finished. A simple formula is used to calculate points, and the same formula is used for both MTTs and SnGs.

Like many of the flash Texas Holdem sites, UB has a different MTT leaderboard for the week, month, and year. The weekly version takes your best 10 results, and $1k is awarded to the person that finishes on top. You’ll need 20 good results to win the monthly leaderboard, where the total prize pool is $14k and first place is $6.5k. Lastly, the annual leaderboard uses your top 100 results, similar to the leaderboards you get with the PokerStars download. 50th through 11th receive entries to a special $36k freeroll. Cash prizes are awarded to the top 10. Both 1st and 2nd place also win $10,000 WSOP Main Event entries!

If you feel inexperienced on US friendly poker sites, it might be beneficial to try the SnG leaderboards instead. The reason for this is that there are separate leaderboards for different stakes. The Diamond division was made for people playing from $1 to $20. The prize pool for the week in Diamond is $1,500 while the prize pool for the month is $5k. If you play between $21 and $50 buy-ins, you fall into the Heart division. There is a total of $3k up for grabs for the Heart division on a weekly basis and $7k up for grabs on a monthly basis. If you are prepared to discard your Lucky Ace Poker download so that you have more time on UB, you might want to try the Spade division for buy-ins higher than $51. This division has a $6k prize pool for the week and a $10k prize pool for the month.

Placing well on leaderboards is a great way to make a tournament player more ambitious and excited to play. Maybe you should get some free poker training to become even better at the game. I daresay the prizes are well worth it!

Adam Levy

When Levy plays online poker, he follows a fairly consistent routine. Prior to that year in 2008 he placed first in Event 2 in the Five Star World Classic Poker Classic for $148,860. I wonder if Baldwin ever uses Bingo codes to get his mind off the pressure of playing tournaments?

Since he is a UB spokesman, Baldwin spends the rest of his working hours on download free poker sites. According to Baldwin, the main difference between online and live games is that online games are much more aggressive preflop. He will attempt to win pots without showdown online in contrast to live where he is happy to see multi-way flops.

Brandon Cantu

In that tournament he also busted 6 bounty players good for $5k a piece! As such, he got the nickname “The Bounty Hunter”. It wouldn’t surprise me if the six pros he took out of that event wished he were into online casino gambling for a living instead!

Cantu has cashed for over $3.4 million in live tournaments. He’s on Team UB, though, so you’d think that he must sometimes play poker in online casino USA sites. Unlike a lot of the other players I’ve written about in my blog, he actually doesn’t spend that much time playing on sites where you can download free poker as he’s always been primarily a live player. When he does play, though, it’s obviously mostly on UB. He’s known as BRANDONCANTU on UB, and he plays tournaments and sometimes high stakes ring games.

Tiffany Michelle

Looks like it’s time for another blog entry! Today we shall tell you about Tiffany Michelle, another representative of UB and online casinos for USA players. Michelle has only been playing professionally for around four years, but being attractive and participating in the World Series has caused her to turn heads in the poker community. She holds the record for the largest field ever overcome by a female after placing 17th out of 6,844 people in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. Michelle was born in L.A. 25 years ago. She went to school at UCLA where she finished a theatre program, and she has been seen on a few different television shows including ER and The Amazing Race. And not only does she also like to write and perform music, she can also boast that she’s won a beauty pageant. It’s safe to say that Michelle was in the right place at the right time when it comes to poker, but she’s definitely making the most of it. She has a long way to go to catch up to the likes of Annie Duke, but she’s very young and most certainly has plenty of time!

Joe Sebok

To continue with the theme of writing about Team UB, my entry will mention Joe Sebok, a professional poker player that also supports a UB referral code. There’s a chance you might not know Sebok, but you should almost certainly recognize his stepfather, Barry Greenstein. Originally from San Francisco, Sebok started playing professionally around five years ago. He’s been encouraging the UB referral code since September 2009.

Tournament poker is Sebok’s bread and butter, and his cashes in live tournaments total almost $2 million. He has never won a World Series of Poker bracelet, but he’s cashed 15 times so far. Just last year he finished 56th in the Main Event, his highest finish so far in the annual tournament. Since tournaments are his main game, I’m curious to know whether or not he tries MTTs on a Full Tilt Poker download or uses a PokerStars bonus code every once in a while. If he does, I’m sure he’s not the only UB representative doing things like that!

The poker community is fairly familiar with Sebok for a variety of reasons. He co-founded PokerRoad.com with Greenstein, a media center that offers blogs, radio, and TV all related to poker. Gavin Smith, another professional player, helps him host the PokerRoad Radio. Perhaps you’ve seen the Internet show “Prop Bets” where Sebok and Smith can be seen competing with each other in different prop bets in activities like kick boxing and belly slapping. This show developed from a prop bet that caused Sebok, the loser, to wear three costumes to the 2006 WSOP Main Event, including a diaper-wearing bear, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. He definitely knows how to have fun, and it’s apparent that Sebok doesn’t need poker downloads and MTTs to pay the bills.

Sebok is only in his thirties, so we can expect a lot more out of him as the years continue to roll on. He’s only just started his poker career, and one would think that he will win a WSOP title in the near future. He played on internet sites when he first started playing poker, so if you strive to become a great player, you should do the same. It wouldn’t surprise me if Sebok told you to avoid other sites like a Bodog or Party Poker download bonus, though. He wants you to represent UB too!

Annie Duke

When I wrote last time, I told you about Phil Hellmuth because he helps promote UB and the UB referral code, and now I’m about to write about Annie Duke, another UB spokesperson. One of the most famous female poker pros around today, Duke received a WSOP bracelet in 2004 in an Omaha Hi-Low tournament. You’ll probably know her brother, Howard Lederer. Duke grew up with Lederer in New Hampshire, and he was the person that eventually taught her how to play poker.

Duke began representing UB and the UB referral code ten years ago back in 2000. It’s safe to say that she has done very well since she started playing poker, seeing as her live MTT poker winnings total over $4 million. Her most successful cash in the WSOP Main Event was 10th place back in 2000 when she was pregnant with her 3rd child. She’s placed in the money in the WSOP 37 times for $1.1 million in total cashes, and she won the winner-take-all invitational WSOP Tournament of Champions for $2 million in 2004.

Duke isn’t famous just because she’s a female poker player. In 2004 she tutored Ben Affleck, and then he proceeded to win the California State Poker Championship. She was the first poker player to talk on the Colbert Report, she participated in the game show 1 vs 100 not just once but three times, and she appeared on Deal or No Deal one time. She also participated in Celebrity Apprentice just last year where she placed second behind Joan Rivers despite raising 3 times more in donations on behalf of her charity, Refugees International. Also consider that she also participates on UB’s Best Damn Poker Show, and you have to wonder how she ever has time to play any poker hands.

Duke is a proud supporter of US compatible casinos and player rights. She voices her displeasure with the fact that people are not able to have logos on their clothes during some live tournaments. Regarding the subject, she boldly said, “We are not even slaves. We’re people paying to pick the cotton.” Duke of course knows that she’s one of a few women in her industry, but she doesn’t like the fact that there are tournaments open only to women. In her words, “Poker is one of the few sports where a woman can compete on a totally equal footing with a man, so I don’t understand why there’s a ladies only tournament.” Because of this, she passes up any opportunity to play in ladies only MTTs.

Annie Duke is an excellent representative for both UB and poker in general. By appearing in so many different TV shows, she’s encouraging people everywhere to download free poker and participate in one of the best games ever invented. The Poker Brat

One high profile professional poker player that would favor a UB referral code over others would be Phil Hellmuth, a UB representative that has gained and kept fame due to his World Series of Poker accomplishments and outbursts at the tables. Hellmuth was the first of five children, born in 1964 in Wisconsin where he also attended university. Hellmuth married his wife, Kathy, and they moved to California where they have two sons.

The most impressive record is that he has won 11 WSOP bracelets, winning the first title when he was just 24 years old, another record at the time. His multiple successes and accomplishments allowed him to be elected to the Poker Hall of Fame in 2007.

Hellmuth first achieved attention and fame through his accomplishments in MTT poker, but nothing keeps him in the limelight more than his reputation for outbursts and tirades at the tables. The success he’s had over the years has helped him develop a large poker ego, and it seems like he just loses control when he suffers some bad luck. He often mocks and bashes those that play in ways he deems less than optimal, insulting them with childish names and calling them stupid. He even received a penalty from the floor in the 2008 WSOP because he kept harassing someone after he showed the table that he’d caused Hellmuth to fold a hand preflop with suited rags. His multiple tantrums and overreactions over the years have earned him the nickname of “The Poker Brat”.

You have to admire the fact that Hellmuth has taken advantage of his strange nick name, however. He currently has a clothing and merchandise line at www.PokerBrat.com, and you can buy a book that he wrote titled, you guessed it, Poker Brat. He’s the author of several books, actually, and he’s even made DVDs and a mobile phone game. He’s written several newspaper columns called “Hand of the Week” where he details interesting poker hands that he’s encountered during his career, and he also has a couple blogs online. And with several TV appearances and coaching gigs, it’s clear that Hellmuth has a busy poker life outside of the tables.

There’s tons of information out there regarding playing at Full Tilt or PokerStars, but you’d be mistaken to not consider playing at UB too. You can join the UB pros and earn your UB bonus at the same time. Players everywhere dream of accomplishing as much as Hellmuth has accomplished in his career, but you can’t to this without plenty of practice in US poker rooms.
