UBOC
So far in my articles we’ve talked about the benefits of a UB download, the UB referral code, how to clear the bonus, and information about RAI$E, their VIP program. In this article I will discuss the tournaments hosted by UB, particularly the UB Online Championship (UBOC) series. The fourth UBOC was hosted earlier this year, featuring 12 days and 18 events.
The people that discovered UB before the series started probably earned tons of Status Points towards their bonus after using a UB referral code because they were able to play for a total prize pool of over $4 million. Even the micro stakes players participated because running at the same time was Mini-UBOC, a series that was similar to the regular UBOC but offered buy-ins for the micro-stakes player.
While there were a lot of Hold Em events, UBOC players also had the chance to play different types of poker. Players got to play PLO, mixed games, and HORSE. The Hold Em choices included short-handed and full ring tournaments as well as heads-up and rebuy events. If you managed to win one of the events, you received a very nice championship watch as a special UB bonus for winning the tournament.
Event buy-ins started at $100+$9 and went up to $2,500+$100 while event guarantees ranged from $30k to $1 million. MTT poker pros such as Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth hosted the events. Some absolutely huge prizes were won, including $361k in the Deepstack No-Limit Hold Em 6-max event and $279k in the Championship Event.
With poker growing more and more every day, you can be assured that UBOC should only get better and better. It might seem like forever before the next series is announced, but maybe it will give some people some time to make a UB download so that they can participate too. If you’re not already playing poker hands at the site, feel free to glance at my previous entries for details about why it could benefit you to do so. Until next time, good luck at the tables!
